William Forrest “Bill” Biagi, of Oak Park passed away Saturday evening, August 8th 2015 at the age of 82.
He was the beloved husband of Marion (nee Newport) Biagi for 58 years and the devoted father of eight children; Jennifer (Mark) Bailey, Alison, William (Michelle), James (Jo Ellen), Robert, Thomas (Hazel), Adele Roman, Amelia (Mike) Labbe, along with twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He leaves behind many close friends.
Born to Alma and William Biagi in January 1933, Bill was raised in Oak Park and is a graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School, Wright Junior College and Roosevelt University. He served in the U.S. Army in the early to mid-1950s at Fort Riley, KS and Fort Bliss, TX.
He was an early computer specialist and spent the majority of his career as a Senior Vice President for a market research firm. He retired as an accountant and bookkeeper at the age of 72. He served as President of the condo association where he lived until he passed away.
Throughout his life, he played many sports, was a high school and collegiate sportsman and captain of his cross-country team. Bill was an avid tennis player. As a member of the Oak Park Tennis Club, he served as Treasurer and President. He played basketball until he was 78 years young. He took up and loved playing golf in his 70s, had a hole-in-one and played regularly until shortly before he died. He was a huge Chicago Bears and Bulls fan, always cheering his teams on.
He was loved and cherished for his quick wit and personable treatment of everyone he came in contact with.
Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 12:00pm until time of Memorial Service, 3:00pm at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 S. DesPlaines Avenue, North Riverside.
