Dolores L. Kelly (nee Lyons) passed away on November 4, 2019 at the age of 91. Dolores was born on May 22, 1928 at her family home in Cicero, IL to Thomas and Marie (nee Knize). She was the youngest of 12 children, Marie Kovalesky, Dorothy Klein, Richard Lyons, George Lyons, Edward Lyons, Thomas Lyons, Joseph Lyons and Elsie Lyons (and three others who died in infancy) and was an Alumni of Nazareth Academy in LaGrange Park, IL.
Dolores married Walter Kelly, a devoted father and provider who passed at a young age after a long struggle with cancer. As a single mother, Dolores lovingly raised five children; Kathleen, Michael, Patricia, Karen, and Thomas.
Dolores possessed a passion for needlepoint, tapestry, beadwork and leaves behind some very beautiful works of art. She was bestowed with a gift of luck, and she very much enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and participated in many bingo games with friends. Dolores enjoyed cooking and baking, had a zest for life, and generosity and kindness to everyone that crossed her path. Later in life, when diagnosed with breast cancer and a broken hip, she remained brave and with an iron will to fight her illnesses.
Her children, as well as her brother, George Lyons (age 94)and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews survive Dolores.

A graveside service and interment for Dolores will take place at 10:30am on Monday, November 11 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the cemetery office by 10:15am.
