So sad to see this news. I met Chris when I transferred to UIC from another school, and she is the reason Im an engineer today. I had a unique academic situation, and she listened to me, believed in me, and helped me get what I needed, and Im forever grateful to her for assisting me the way she did, more than 20 years ago. As it turns out, I was going to touch base with her and tell her how Im doing these days, then I found out of her passing. Thank you Chris, Im a successful engineer today, with the US Navy and Coast Guard, because of you! -Chris Fava

I worked closely with Chris for several years at UIC. She will greatly missed by so many, but the students will miss her the most. They knew she cared about them. Her door was always openwelcomingconsolinglisteningadvising. Each student our young wanna be engineers sought her outher warmth and caring for them was special. She will be missed by so many. It was an honor to work with you.

Onto the great beyond, my friend and mentor. Your legacy shall be the lives youve touched, influenced, and inspired to be the greatest we can be. We will carry that love with us forever and pass on your wisdom with the same passion as you did for us. You will be greatly and dearly remembered.

Dear Family of Ms. Christine Kuypers, I offer my sincerest condolences and support to you all at this time. Christine had such a dynamic personality and she will certainly be missed by many but especially by you all. It was about 20 years ago today that I first met her and she gave me the academic formula that day that has changed my life forever. Now as a faculty member, in the same program that she taught me to navigate through, I work hard to embody the same thoroughness and compassion that she showed to me during all advising sessions with my students. She has blessed the lives of thousands of students and as a student I nominated her for the HOPE (Honoring Our Professors Excellence) Award because of her Engineering Orientation course that gave us the excellent foundation for our engineering studies. I salute Ms. Kuypers! May she rest peacefully!

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Chriss passing. I worked with her for many years when she was with the Engineering college at UIC. She helped me so many times when advising students and a student had an issue, whether transferring credits or signing up late for a course and the like. I will never forget her pleasant, positive disposition and her unflagging support for students and faculty alike. I was sorry when she left UIC a few years ago, and I cant believe that she is no longer with us. I give my most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.

My deepest condolences for the family. I was a lost Marine when I left active duty to come to UIC and Chris took me under her wing to help me navigate the confusing landscape of the Engineering department. We would discuss the soft spot in her heart for Marinesand I had a soft spot for Chris. I would NOT be where I am today without Chris. Heck, I wouldnt have made it through college without her holding my hand through most of it. My heart aches for her loss and Im sending my love to her family right now. Chris touched so many lives through her work and friendships.

I met Christine, Han and Elsa through the meals on wheels program. Christine would pick up food weekly and we would have great conversations. It is with great sorrow that I came across this. I looked forward to seeing you again Chris and helping you get your yard together. We will meet again soon and have more great chats. Til that day my friend, we got it from here.

Chris provided a warm and welcoming environment for the students who passed through her doors. They know that she cared for them, and she went out of her way to give them support and encouragement. In her time with us in the College of Engineering she helped create a welcoming atmosphere. I was dismayed to hear of her death. Sadly I will be out of town and cannot attend the visitation. To Chris family members know that your mom made an impact on a generation of students, and on me as well.
