Doulgas Harper Reed

Douglas Harper Reed, age 90, of Riverside, formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, MI., passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Doug carried with him a strong sense of dedication, discipline, and service throughout his life. He was also a longtime member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, where he formed friendships and memories that remained meaningful to him over the years.

Doug had a curious and thoughtful mind and enjoyed many interests throughout his life. He had a particular appreciation for business and finance, and he enjoyed keeping up with the world of investments and financial affairs. He was also an avid football fan and could often be found following the game and discussing the teams and players. An enthusiastic reader, Doug valued the opportunity to learn, explore new ideas, and lose himself in a good book.

Those who knew Doug will remember him for his intelligence, quiet interests, and the unique perspective he brought to the people and world around him. His life was shaped by a love of learning, a spirit of service, and the relationships he built along the way.

Reed III, William James Reed, Nathan Garrett Reed and Emily Jo (Everett) Yeaw, dear brother of the late James Alexander Reed Jr. and brother-in-law of Barbara (Mick) Jolley, Patricia (Thomas) Keonig, Paula Kaye (late Paul) Rabidoux and Larry (Julie) Peterman, fond uncle of Traci (Terence) Williams, Frank Herbert, Graham (Sharon) Manges, Mary (Frank) Luyando, Tonya (Arthur) Duda, Joshua Koenig, Andres Malvarez, Kathryn Koenig and Jessica (John) Montalbano.
