Dear Diane and Family To say that Uncle Eddie (as myself, my brother Mark and my sister Nancy always addressed him) was beloved by the Blackman family is an incredible understatement. From the mid 1950s when my parents began bringing us over to your home in North Riverside, I remember that ever present smile accompanied by his infectious laughter that permeated every joyous visit. Even after the loss of your sainted mother and his beloved wife (Aunt) Shirley when I would drive my mother Corinne out to see him when he was in assisted living that smile and laughter was still present. I can honestly say that every time I ever interacted with either of your parents we always left their presence with our hearts a little lighter. I know that these last couple of years where very difficult for him and for you and your family. I do know from the conversations which my mother and I had with him in his assisted living residence he was so proud of you ,your husband and daughter . You and your familys love and loving care for him was a great consolation to him in his final difficult days. Please be comforted in your grief that your fathers life made a statement for goodness in this world . With all our prayers in this difficult time. Chuck Blackman

Diane, I am so sorry to read about your dads passing. I have fond memories of my parents friendship with your mom and dad when my folks lived on 19th avenue in North Riverside. Milton and Ed were like long-lost buddies that found each other again. I believe it was after I graduated college and lived with my folks for a year that your dad taught me how to do a tune-up on the engine in my car. It was that act of kindness that has stayed with me all these years. I hope that our dads have found each other again and are talking about the latest backyard project or bonfire that they so enjoyed. Tom Capek

Dear Diane and Family, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I remember him as quiet, but always smiling. I know it is not easy to move on, but eventually peace will come as you allow the memories you have made fill your heart. Laura (Veselak) Kurhayez
