Harold was born July 20, 1922 in Chicago and passed away April 10, 2012 in Brookfield. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor L. (nee Bailey), loving father of Christine (Michael) Gabler, Kathleen (Robert) Palmer, Wendy Kartje, M.D., Daniel Kartje, Becky Kartje, M.D. and Michael (Anne) Kartje, cherished grandfather of Jason (Tara), Keith and Geoff Gabler, Bobby (Bonny), Michael (Emily) Palmer and Emily (Fred) Miller, Jon and Sean Tillotson, Elizabeth, Catherine, Mike, Alex and Oliver Kartje and great-grandfather of Jason Jr., Charlie and John Gabler and Madison Alborn and Robert Palmer. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Christ and Mary (nee Pfendt) Kartje and one brother and one sister.
