Jay Henry Deakin

Jay Henry Deakin, age 84, formerly of Kingston, TN, passed away on November 1, 2023. Born on May 28, 1939, in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Henry and Faye Deakin. Jay graduated from Susquehanna High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Army before retiring from IBM after 30 years of service.

Beloved husband of the late Jean M. (nee Mess), loving father of William Jon (Lisa Diehlmann) Deakin, Robert M. Deakin, and the late Jayese Marie Deakin, cherished grandfather of Chloe A. Deakin, Ava L. Deakin, Henry S. Deakin, Annabelle H. Deakin, Isabella N. Neeley, and the late Johanna Deakin, dear brother of Lorraine Deakin Jackson, Jon H. Deakin, the late Winifred Deakin Matthews, and the late Carol Deakin Doerr, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jay was a proud member of Bradbury United Methodist Church in Kingston, TN, and was a dedicated Mason for 50 years in the Susquehanna PA Lodge, where he achieved master rank in 1969.
