Jean Fonte (nee Stumpo), age 89, formerly of Berwyn, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2017. Beloved wife of late Henry “Rick”; caring and devoted mother of Frank (Kim) Fonte, Gloria (William) Bovenzo and Michele (Patrick) Cahill; cherished grandmother of Anthony (Catherine) Kannenberg, Sean Cahill, Frank (Noelle) Fonte and Brian (Tabatha) Fonte; treasured great-grandmother of Aidan, Collin, Francesca, Isabella, Gabe and Sophia; adored sister of late Aida (late Robert) Stuart, late Joseph (late Rose) Stumpo, late Arthur (late Lee) Stumpo, late Ernesto (late Nella) Stumpo, Gloria (Tito) Fonte, Dorothy (late Pat) Conjura, late Chester Stumpo, late Albert Stumpo and late Alfred Stumpo; loving aunt of many; and supportive friend to many. Jean will be missed not only because of the unconditional love she showed each person, but for her quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, tremendous strength and courage, excellent cooking and for being an avid Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks fan. A funeral service honoring her life will be held at the Mary Queen of Heaven Cemetery Interment Chapel 1400 S. Wolf Rd., Hillside on August 17 at 12:00 pm CST. Family and Friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery office by 11:45am. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://act.alz.org) and the Rainbow Ark Hospice at Presence Resurrection Hospital (https://rainbowhospice.org/).
