Beloved husband of Josephine (nee Pellegrino) Bertone, loving father of Laura Bertone and the late John Bertone Jr., cherished grandfather of John Bertone, Michael (Fiona) Bertone, Nikko Bertone and Dominick Bertone, dear brother of Pat (late Phil) Luciani, Claire Bertone, the late Sam Bertone, late Jerry (Isabelle) Bertone and the late Tony Bertone, fond uncle of many.

A hard worker at heart, John took immense pride in providing for his family. His career with the Town of Cicero was not just a job to him; it was a source of joy and fulfillment. Each day, he poured his strength into his work, embodying the essence of a devoted employee who understood the value of community service. However, it was within his role as precinct captain where John found his true passion. He relished the opportunity to help others, ensuring that every voice was heard and every person felt valued.

Outside of his work, John was known for his easy-going nature and his genuine warmth. Lunchtime with friends was a ritual for him, filled with laughter and shared tales that pointed to the bonds he forged over the years.
