God bless you, John. Your friendly smile and spirit will be greatly missed by both your colleagues and students at Triton. May your daughter and mother also rest in eternal peace.

John, we met freshman year at SIU, in a class that we would often laugh about regarding the absurdities presented. We soon became best friends, and you came to my family home for Christmas with your "Puerto Rican Tourister" luggage (your description).

After my divorce, you were my only remaining friend from our college group. Others moved on, passed away and still others just stopped communicating but you, a true friend, always kept in touch. We didn't always see eye to eye in our latter years as we became the curmudgeons, we always complained about in our early years, but we always wished each other and the family's the very best.

To receive the news that I will never hear from you again, and the horrific manner in which you perished, has been extremely difficult to process. It was just this last day after Christmas, December 26, 2021, when we exchanged best wishes for each other's family's and you told me about moving into the new home. It was a huge accomplishment to take care of your family with which you were rightly very proud.

A man or woman will have many friends and acquaintances during their life, I am happy to say that I am one of the fortunate to have had you as a true friend in my life.

We will meet again my friend in heaven (God willing).

Love Always,
