Mark A. Camasta

Mark A. Camasta, age 59 of Lyons. Beloved husband of the late Ronnette Belser, loving father of Michael James Belser Camasta and Marinna Rose Belser Camasta, cherished son of Tina (nee D’Ambrosio) and the late Alexander Camasta, dear brother of Adrianne (Charles) Kihm, Chris (Michele) Camasta, Karen (David) Willey, Craig (Andrea) Camasta and Keith (Teri Miller) Camasta, fond uncle of Joe (Chrissy), Carl, Lindsey (Bob) Stuckey, Anthony, Alexis, Genna, Dominic, Luca and August and great-uncle of Nathan and Kyle. Mark gave of himself unconditionally. He was unconditionally kind. He was a mentor. He was a loving Father. Mark loved the outdoors and relished in the gifts of the outdoors that God has provided for all of us. He enjoyed being there to help and assist others; he did so without any need for anything in return. His wisdom that encompassed “It’s not what you look at that matters, is what you see” was his ability to look below the surface of any obstacle or situation that he encountered. Memorial Mass Saturday, March 12, 10:00am at St. Mary Church, 126 Herrick Road, Riverside. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Karen Camasta Willey c/o Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 S. DesPlaines Avenue, North Riverside, IL 60546 for the benefit of Mark’s children’s college fund would be appreciated. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.KuratkoNosek.com. We knew Mark way back when Gordon hired his wife as a tiny mechanic at AMOCO! And we helped him find a job after relocating as an able eager carpenter first working for us on reconstructing our house in Beecher! And then working as a corporate attorney at Applied Systems! We are so sorry to hear of Marks passing! It hasnt been easy without Ronnie, and now his children oh, my! Mark was a fun loving man with many talents! I can still hear his voice!

I truly appreciate the year I co-taught 5th Grade Religious Education with Mark at St. Mary in Riverside. Mark was a very patient, caring and spiritual man who had a very positive impact on the lives of all the children in our class. I clearly remember how he could take any lesson about the sacraments and tell a personal and engaging story about each one of them. When Mark began to speak, the students would sit quietly and gave him their full attention. On more than one occasion they would ask him to tell us more, keep going, what happened next? Mark was always willing to provide more information and answer every question that was asked. His patience was boundless. I dont remember exactly how it came up but one time a student asked if he was married. Mark paused for a moment and then said something I will never forget: I was married to the most wonderful person in the world but something sad and beautiful happened to her at the same time. The sad part is that she died but at the moment of her death the greatest thing happened, she went to heaven. My children and I really miss her but she is here with us always, keeping an eye on us and is with us even when we dont see her. I never really knew what an angel was until my wife became one. She is with us here now. Marinna and Michael, it was a privilege working with your father. His faith has inspired me and many others over the years. I am very sorry for your loss but I am sure that he is now an angel along with your mom and will always be with you wherever you go. Psalms 91:11 For he will give his angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways.

Dear Marinna and Michael- We were so sorry to hear about your father. We have so many fond memories of our days in Cub Scouts with your mom and dad as well as the both of you. The cake auctions, the pinewood derbies, too many to mention. Your dad was always so proud and happy to be a part of all that you both were involved in. He was such a wonderfully genuine soul. It was a pleasure to have known him. Take heart and know that you are in the hearts and prayers of so many friends and family. Have courage and faith knowing God will give you the strength and peace you need going forward. Love, The Morans Walter, Aneta, Walter, Eamon, Ian and Jamie
