Mary B. Losew (nee Jandak), age 77 of Willow Springs. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Losew, cherished daugher of the late James Jandak Jr. and late Bessie (nee Krumal) Jandak, dear sister of the late James “Jim” (Donna) Jandak, fond aunt of Kathleen Jandak and John J. (Christine) Jandak and great aunt of Adeline Jandak, Sydney Jandak and John James Jandak Jr., loving neighbor and friend to many.
Mary and her beloved 'Ranger Ron' lived an interesting and full life. They were two peas in a pod.
In their younger years they attached a top on their pickup truck and would travel the country, camping in the back. Together they were beekeepers and raised chickens, way before it was fashionable. Ever the devoted wife, Mary would nurse back to health injured animals Ron would bring home from the forest preserves where he worked. It was not uncommon to see snapping turtles, snakes, raccoons and more in their home.
It's no surprise, Mary, a former librarian for the University of Illinois, was a fountain of knowledge to many. Her interests and intellect were wide. Mary enjoyed the symphony, ballet, orchestra, gardening, geology, quilting, sewing, her club associations and more.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with her beloved friends and neighbors. She cultivated friendships as beautifully as she did her flowers.
Mary left this world a better place and will be missed by many.
