Robert A. Helebrandt

Robert A. Helebrandt, age 92 of Stickney, formerly of North Riverside. U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Proud recipient of the Army Occupation Medal (Japan), Bronze Star Medal, Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze (C) Stars, Distinguished Unit Emblem, Presidential Unit Citation (ROK), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Medal. Robert was also a member of the American Legion Stickney Post 687 and Carpenters Local Union 1889. Beloved husband of Doris Helebrandt nee Kasper, loving father of Susan (Martin) Retzer, and Kay Nelson, cherished grandfather of Robert (Christine) Retzer, Michael (Elizabeth) Retzer, Adam Nelson and Amy Nelson, great grandfather of Megan Retzer and Abigail Retzer, dear brother of the late Vlasta Svoboda and fond uncle of Linda (James) Malone, Robert (Phyllis) Svoboda, Nancy (James) Berard.  Memorial donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated. Visitation Friday, January 13, 2023, 9:00am - 11:00am at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 S. DesPlaines Ave, North Riverside. Interment with Military Honors at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park.
