The Nosek Family Promise

Our Commitment to Providing Compassionate and Professional Funeral Services

We promise...to respect your budget

Sadly, some funeral homes follow an “oops” approach to funeral arrangements. They will quote an attractive price over the phone, but when you come into the funeral home they inform you that there are a few extra fees they forgot to mention. We believe this practice is disrespectful to your family and your budget.

Our unique consultative arrangement process begins with you describing the type of service you have in mind and your family's budget. Next, we will explore a wide variety of options that will help reduce the total price while maximizing the value of your service. At Kuratko-Nosek, our prices are always low, and all-inclusive, with no last minute “oops” to impact your budget.

Throughout the process, we always strive to recommend what is best for your family, not what is best for our business. This used to be how all funeral homes worked but unfortunately, in today’s competitive market, some have strayed from our traditional role as stewards for your family during a very difficult time.

We promise...that you will have 24-hour access to our team, 7 days a week

A study of families served by us over the past five years shows that 65% of loved ones passed away at night or on weekends. That is why it is so important for you to have 24-hour access to our team, 7 days a week.

Regardless of when you call our office, your call will be answered by trained personnel. Often your first contact will be with one of the Kuratko-Nosek family members. If your loved one has passed, members of our team will be immediately dispatched to bring them into our care. For local families, our goal is to have your loved one in our care within one hour of your call.

Prior to a funeral service there will be a long list of tasks that must be completed in order for the service to go the way you want. Flowers must be selected; a eulogy will need to be prepared and dozens of other decisions will need to be made. During this time, you will have 24-hour access to your funeral director. We will be there for you, day or night, to make sure that every little thing is handled, and that your service is a beautiful farewell.

We promise…you will be given the opportunity for a private farewell with your loved one

Saying goodbye to your loved one is never easy. Unfortunately, in today’s disposable culture, many people skip this step. The sad reality is that failing to say goodbye to someone you love leaves emotional wounds that may never heal.

Some people who are preplanning their own funerals assume they are making it easier for their families by requesting no viewing of their remains. Sadly, they are actually making it harder for their families. Allowing their body to be present is the last meaningful gift they can give to their loved ones. Their soul may have departed but their earthly body will help those who remain to accept the loss and begin their journey through the natural grief process.

At Kuratko-Nosek, whenever possible every family will be given the opportunity for private time with the deceased before the cremation or burial service. Even if the family is planning to hold a public viewing and funeral ceremony, the immediate family will always be given time for a private farewell first in order to make the public event a little easier.

We promise…your service can be as traditional or innovative as you like

Many families find significant comfort in a traditional funeral service complete with a public visitation, church funeral service, procession to the cemetery and a graveside ceremony. Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home has always, and will always, be ready to care for families wanting a traditional service.

We also pride ourselves on being the most flexible, creative and innovative funeral home in the area. When planning a service, we listen carefully as family members recall stories of their loved one’s life. We then offer up suggestions for creative ways to focus the funeral on the way they lived, not on the way they passed away.

Over the years, we have had all sorts of memorabilia brought to a visitation to help tell the story of a lifetime. For example, when a man passed away who was well known for riding his bike all over the area, we made sure to have his bike prominently displayed at his visitation. Everyone attending recognized the bike and shared their memories of a unique person.

We always tell the family “the room is yours” and give them the opportunity to celebrate their loved one in their own unique way. Our rule of thumb is, as long as it is legal, ethical and moral we will do everything possible to support your family’s wishes.

Throughout the year we also sponsor programs, such as Stockings for Soldiers, as part of our exclusive relationship with Veterans and Family Memorial Care.

We promise…you will be given the opportunity for a spiritually significant ceremony.

The loss of a loved one can be an overwhelming time of hectic activity and sadness. During this time, many families find that a meaningful eulogy and a time of prayer adds a spiritual element to the experience and helps to begin the healing process.

Some families turn to their pastor to capture the essence of a person's life in a eulogy and to lead the prayers. However, sometimes the pastor has a scheduling conflict and the family is left without someone to fulfill this important role. In other cases, families without a church home are left looking for someone to lead the ceremony for their loved one.

To meet this need, Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home offers a large, newly remodeled chapel with comfortable seating, state-of-the-art multimedia equipment, a lounge area and ample parking.

In addition, we have carefully selected individuals who are available to lead the ceremony. Whether a family wishes traditional prayers led by an ordained minister or a non-denominational ceremony led by a funeral celebrant, we have trained professionals available to meet the need.

We are also prepared to offer several special touches which can add to the spiritual nature of your ceremony. For example, a lone bagpiper playing Amazing Grace at the graveside will warm the hearts of all attendees and create a final tribute for the deceased

We promise…you will value the experience

The cost of a funeral service is often important. But the real priority is the value you receive for the money you spend. We believe that whether you spend $3,000 or $13,000, if the experience does not meet the emotional, spiritual and practical needs of your family...you've spent too much.

At Kuratko-Nosek, we pride ourselves on delivering more value than any other funeral service provider in the area.

Value comes from...

  • our expert guidance as you navigate a difficult time
  • our ability to create a unique and beautiful funeral experience your family and friends will cherish
  • our willingness to handle all the details so you can relax and experience the love and support of family and friends
  • our talented team members who always treat everyone with compassion and care
  • our selection of only the highest quality products at all price ranges.

We are so confident that you will value the experience…we guarantee it. Should there ever be a portion of our services that does not meet your expectations simply notify us right away and we will do whatever it takes to correct the shortfall. If we are unable to do so, we will refund that portion of our service fee.
